WEB DESIGNER

Lumina is a creative agency based in sunny Los Angeles, working with market-leading brands, impactful entrepreneurs and tomorrow's most exciting startups to create designs that are both intentional and beautiful. Our work creates impact, shapes perception and takes businesses to whole new heights.

We are seeking a web designer to join our team for a long-term, remote, freelance opportunity.

The ideal unicorn will be able to intuitively blend UX/UI with beautiful design, and work hand in hand with our account managers to deliver highly-converting, visually stunning websites.

This position will be approximately 15-20 hours a week, with opportunity to grow into full-time in a few months.

Our designers do not have interaction with clients, so you don’t have to worry about client calls, scope creeps, etc…all you get to do is DESIGN!

Below is a breakdown of how our web design workflows go:

• Project briefs will be handed to you, with guidelines on brand assets (colors & fonts), web structure, creative direction suggestions, final copy & photos. Our account managers do a lot of heavy lifting here!
• Once your first round of design is ready (which you’ll build on XD), you present to an account manager, and the two of you iterate on design until it’s 100% aligned internally. Our designers build out pages one at a time, for both desktop and mobile.
• Next, the AM presents the design to the client, and the client is capped at 2 rounds of revisions.
• Once the client has approved the design, we pass the project to development. Once the site has been developed, you’ll do a final review of the page to ensure it matches your design.
• NOTE: we do all of our communications on Slack and Clickup- we’re super organized and systemized when it comes to our workflows

• 3+ years experience designing at a creative agency or as a creative consultant
• An understanding of BOTH UX strategy and visual design
• Bachelor's degree in design, communications or equivalent professional experience
• An online portfolio demonstrating the range of your design skills
• Bonus points if Southern California or Austin, TX based. This is a remote position, but we love getting together for team offsites, activities and hangs!
• If you’re not local, must be able to work around PST.

• You must have excellent aesthetic taste, period, with full awareness of creative processes, design trends & techniques.
• Proficiency in Adobe CC (our web designers use XD for website wireframing, design and dev hand-off).
• An ability to interpret detailed strategy documents and apply them to your designs.
• Thorough understanding of UI design and UX flows, and knowledge on optimizing mobile design.
• Is INTELLIGENT with their designs. Selects photos that correspond to the copy, infuses storytelling into their design, and designs for the end user.
• Is a SUPER communicator. Overcommunication is a core value of ours!
• Able to take constructive feedback & delegate effectively. Gives “the client what they want”, but also provides their own take on what might work better.
• Highly detail oriented & naturally triple checks everything.
• Enthusiastic, kind, sociable, articulate & confident.
